You apply to hundreds of jobs
You customize your resume for each
You spend weeks and months looking

And you still get nothing 😓

Does this story sound familiar?

This is because that’s what everyone is doing

If your job search strategy is dependent on the “shotgun resume approach”, then you’re doing what everyone else is, burying your resume in a sea of applicants, most likely to be ignored and rejected 😞. This is especially true for new developers who may not have the years of experience or college degree that many openings still require.

So how do you get noticed?

Research shows that people who are referred for a job are 9x more likely to get it. While a referral is not a guarantee for a job, it typically does guarantee at least a conversation with a recruiter out of respect for the referrer.

Which means on the job hunt, networking is absolutely critical.
