Why does everyone want to be a leader?

There are so many posts, books, blogs, etc. about how to become a leader. As if leadership is synonymous with success. As if the number of people who report to you, or the size of your paycheck dictates your value…

Shouldn’t the focus instead be on how to be compassionate, patient, curious, honest, forgiving, and hard-working? The list of virtues could go on.

These are the people who others naturally want to follow. That is the kind of person we should aspire to be.

Will they rise to the top of the food chain? Maybe not, but for sure they will make the world a better place wherever they are.

And that’s the goal
