Relative Success is Absolute Failure

When we lose track of our purpose in life, we start comparing ourselves to others.

  • I must be “better” if I make more money then them, right?
  • I must be “happier” if I wear better clothes than them, right?
  • I must be “more successful” if I have a bigger title, right?

Our fulfillment in life then becomes relative to the success of other people. We gradually become more concerned about their opinion, and it’s harder to celebrate their success.

Life devolves into superficial social posturing. This is where luxury brands come from — they build off our insecurities by reinforcing an arbitrary class-system based on the ownership of their products. Then we justify drowning ourselves in debt just to obtain that social position.

Are you in that struggle?

You can escape.

Find your purpose and live true to it.
