Life in-between

Life happens in-between.

Sometimes I lose track of it in my search to hit certain milestones (graduating college, getting that promotion, buying a house, etc.) as I’m singularly focused on that next objective.

This mindset allowed me to accomplish a fair amount in my life — but at the same time, it robbed me of satisfaction during those valleys in-between.

It’s also surprising how fleeting success is — within seconds of achieving a goal, my mind is already looking forward to the next one… Like an addict whose high is never high enough.

And like an addict, life in-between can be hollow.

We need goals to lift us up — but don’t index on them so much that you can’t enjoy life in-between.
