“We need innovative ideas! Let’s hold a workshop”

Ever heard that before?

This assumes inspiration is an event, instead of a process.

A process that requires:

  • Deliberate exposure to new information, experiences, and people that you don’t normally interact with,
  • Freedom to explore, free from your day-to-day responsibilities, and
  • Consistent focus on synthesizing what you’re experiencing.

It’s like in school

Learning and growth doesn’t happen by cramming for a test (aka an event)

Learning and growth happens when you consistently do the homework (aka the process)

Are you doing the homework?
