I Hope You Never Accomplish Your Goals
We often limit what we can do by settings goals that are too low and easily achievable. Or they’re too tactical, and rarely inspire.
We do it because we fear failure.
Instead, treat your goal as something meant to inspire as opposed to just another checkbox on your to-do list.
For example:
- Instead of a goal of “getting a college degree”, set a goal of becoming a known, national, and influential expert in your craft
- Instead of a goal of “paying off debt”, set a goal of becoming 100% financially independent
- Instead of a goal of “losing 20 pounds”, set a goal of becoming the healthiest and happiest person anyone knows
Keep the short-term, tactical milestones (getting the degree, paying off debt, etc.) but recognize that they are just small steps in a much larger vision that you should have for your life.
As such, your real goals should never be done.
They are instead a vision that will inspire and motivate you for decades to come.
