Do Less, But Do It Better

Sometimes, we forget we have a choice.

It’s easy to feel trapped by a role you’re in, or a job you have. You feel obligated to say “yes” to every request, because that’s your job right?

  • Keep the boss happy
  • Keep the client happy
  • Keep the stakeholders happy

But sometimes “keeping others happy” isn’t the right decision. You have limited time, and only you know how each new request stacks up against the massive list of todo’s you have piling up.

If you say “yes” to everything, you are inherently saying “no” to something else. There’s only so much time in a day. Oftentimes the things you end up saying “no” to are sleep, family time, lunch, etc. and that is not sustainable.

You can’t do everything. It’s just going to lead to unnecessary exhaustion and subpar performance.

So do less, but do it better
