Even if they’re incompetent. Even if you don’t like them.

It’s not about karma, and hoping that someday praise will return your way

The act of praising itself will give you tangible benefits now.

  1. Praise a foe? It lowers their guard toward you now. It builds bridges.
  2. Praise someone incompetent? It can inspire them to try harder now
  3. Praise a team publicly? It builds loyalty now

Ultimately, praise forces more positive thinking and can even make you more happy now

And when bystanders hear your praise of others, it immediately gives them a positive perception of you. They perceive you as honest, humble, and a team player.

So be genuine and be real with your compliments.

And give them freely
